The Great War was supposed to be „The war to end all wars”, a war to last only a few months. What it has become was one of the greatest bloodsheds in history, a trench war that seemed to last forever, the war where the first gas attack in history was carried out killing a previously unimaginable number of people. Today it is the forgotten war – overshadowed by the Second World War.
